Obituary
Inman, SC--Richard Fay Carpenter 59 of Inman S.C. passed away at his home.
Born in Rutherford County to the late Elbert Morton and Sue Hollifield Carpenter. He was a life- long Bachelor. He moved to Tryon when he was 5 when his father became the manager of the A&P. He was a lifelong member of Tryon United Methodist Church.
He was a graduate of Tryon High School and attended the university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Blue Ridge Community College. Richard worked for GE Current as a lighting designer. He enjoyed reading for hours on end. He was also an avid photographer and loved traveling to find new things to photograph.
He is survived by his brother James and his wife Tracey of Swannanoa, his brother Charles and his wife Pam of Cherryville and his nieces, Courtney and Cannon and his Nephews, Erich and Bryan.
