Reginald Lee, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 11, 2026. He was born on December 26, 1946, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Carlisle Wilson Lee and Ellenor Louise Sharpton, both of whom preceded him in death.

Reginald is survived by his sister, Jennifer Shackelford, and his wife of 42 years, Mary Hurley, whom he married in 1984. Together, they built a family and a life filled with love, laughter, stories, and plenty of memories. 

He was the father of five children: Tracy Bergmann, Nancy Jacobs, Sean Hurley, Mary Kathryn Lee, and David Lee, and the grandfather of five grandchildren: Eric, Lisa, Noah, Elon, and Daniel. His family was a constant source of pride and joy. 

Reginald had a natural ability to bring people together. Early in his career, he worked as a radio station DJ, sharing his love of music and his easygoing personality with others. He later became an entrepreneur, founding the Ultimate Bead and Chain business, and went on to a long career with Circuit City Stores, where he served as a district manager before retiring. Those who worked with him remember him as a caring leader who was always willing to help and, usually, had a story to tell. 

Outside of work, Reginald enjoyed traveling, discovering new places, taking drives, and experiencing life at his own pace. He was an enthusiastic storyteller and could turn an ordinary experience into a memorable one. He enjoyed sharing his adventures with family and friends and had a way of making people feel welcome and included.

A private funeral will be held by the family. The family is grateful to the caregivers and friends who spent time with Reginald and supported him during his final days. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those wishing to remember Reginald make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or Dementia Society of America in his memory. 

Reginald loved Jesus and carried his faith with him throughout his life. His family finds comfort in knowing that he loved Jesus and is now at peace in His presence. He will be deeply missed by his family and by the many people whose lives he touched.
