– Rebecca "Becky" Staton Rhodes, 60, formerly of Mill Spring, NC, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in Spartanburg Regional Hospital, Spartanburg, SC. Born in Henderson County, NC she was the daughter of the late Monty C. and Louise Thompson Staton. She was the widow of Glenn Rhodes who died in 2010. A graduate of Western Carolina University, she later did her residency at Duke University and was the Lab Supervisor at Rutherford Hospital for many years. Surviving is a sister, Suzanne S. Bane of East Flat Rock, NC; Nieces and nephews, Ethan Rhodes, Ken Blakeman, John Kelly and his wife, Joelle, Kim Buckner and her husband Jeff and Chase Harris. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Kelly. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 in the Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery, Saluda, NC with Rev. Lloyd Howard officiating. Memorials may be made to the Polk County Community Foundation, 255 South Trade Street, Tryon, NC 28782.
