Obituary
SALUDA –
Ralph Samuel Pace, 84, of the Fork Creek Community of Saluda, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, May 25, 2024, at his home.
A native and lifelong resident of Saluda, he was the son of the late Monroe Pace and Ada Metcalf Pace. Ralph was a graduate of Saluda High School and went on to serve in the United States Army. Ralph retired from Cranston Print Works in 1999 when they closed. He was a member and deacon at Fork Creek Baptist Church. Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his garden but most of all, he loved his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Samuel Pace; two brothers, Virgil Pace and Junior Pace.
Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Hazel Blackwell Pace; four daughters, Sheila Morley (Thomas) of Palm Bay, Florida, Debbie Pace (Ramon) of Tuxedo, Kathy Pace of Columbus and Karen Burgess (Scott) of Hodges, South Carolina; eleven grandchildren, Brian Hayes, Derek Levi, Jennifer Graham, Jason Levi, Amanda Morley, Stacy Levi, Stephanie Martinez, Joshua Hayes, Elijah Burgess, Faith Burgess and Dinah Burgess; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arvalee Kimzey of Saluda and Zinnie Cox of Greenville, South Carolina. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel with Reverend Jimmy Metcalf and Reverend Jimmy Owens officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pace Family Cemetery in Saluda.
