Phyllis Conte Magill, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. She was born on September 4, 1932, in New Rochelle, New York, the daughter of Rose and Vincent Conte.

Phyllis attended the Daniel Webster School and graduated from New Rochelle High School. She later pursued her love for fashion, graduating from the McDowell School of Fashion Design in New York City. Her career led her to work as a designer for Vanity Fair Mills Inc., with roles in Reading, Pennsylvania, and Monroeville, Alabama.

It was in Reading, Pennsylvania, at Christ Church, that she married her husband, the late Allen Bradford Magill. After raising their three children, they relocated to Monroeville, Alabama, where Phyllis lived until 2013.She later moved back to Pennsylvania, where she resided at Shannondell at Valley Forge prior to relocating to North Carolina earlier this year. Phyllis is predeceased by her parents and her husband Allen, who died in 1992. She is survived by her three children: Allen Bradford Magill II of Downingtown, PA; James Robert Magill and his wife Kelley of Taylors, SC; and Katherine Elizabeth Magill of New York. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren—Christine Leigh Jensen (husband Anthony), Stephanie James Magill, Kelsey Lauren Magill (fiancé Zach), Bradley Allen Krapes, MD, and Hannah Rose Krapes (fiancé Eli)—as well as her three great-grandchildren, Olivia Raylee Jensen, Cannon James Jensen, and Maddox Christine Jensen. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Vincent Conte, his wife Donna, and her many nieces and nephews.

A burial will take place in Berryville, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to your local S.P .C.A.
