Peter Bland of Londonderry, NH passed away unexpectedly, August 8, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital in Columbus, NC.Born in Manchester, England, he was the son of the late John Bland and Emily Harrison Bland. Mr. Bland moved to America in October 1962 by ship to New York like many other immigrants. He went on to further his career in Aeronautical Engineering and studied at MIT and at Northeastern University. Mr. Bland began working for Republic Aviation, Kreh Computers and retired from Lockheed-Sanders. He eventually made Londonderry, NH his home in 1968. He was a car enthusiast and was a member of the British Car Club of N.H.Surviving is his wife of 35 years, Betty Lou Hayford Bland; one brother, John Bland Sedona, AZ; one sister, Valerie Kinsman of England; one step daughter, Julie Threfall of Mill Spring, NC; one step-son, Robert Eccker of Cary, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2019 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Tryon, NC with Rev.
