Paul Julius GreeleyTryon, NC- Paul Julius Greeley, 74, husband of Virginia Ellis Greeley, of 271 Vintage Road died June 1st, 2006 in Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. Born in Winnetka, IL, he was the son of the late Paul and Eunice Goebel Greeley. A graduate of The University of the South in Sewanee, TN, he had served as a past trustee and on the alumni committee of Sewanee. He and his wife moved to Tryon in 2002 from Wilmington, NC. Mr. Greeley was a member of the Tryon Rotary Club and the Tryon Country Club. Paul was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration, Saluda, NC. Paul was a joyous person who was full of life and loved by many and will be tremendously missed. Surviving beside his wife are: 2 sons; Paul W. Greeley of Grand Rapid, MI and William Gates of Rye, NY: 2 daughters, Carolyn Lund of St. Paul, MN and Elizabeth Vickrey of Siler City, NC and 11 grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday June 7th, 2006 in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, Tryon, NC with the Rev. Paula Morton officiating.
