Patsy Gibbs Toney, 71, of Green Creek, went home to be with the Lord Friday morning, August 6, 2021, at her home following a brief illness.A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late John Gibbs and Omie Laughter Gibbs. Mrs. Toney retired from Blue Ridge Laser Eye Associates in Columbus after 25 years of service. The love of her life was taking care of her family. She was a member of Melvin Hill Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Gibbs.Surviving is her husband of 50 years, Dean Toney; two sons, Randy Toney (Kimberly) of Green Creek and Marc Toney (LeeAnn) of Boiling Springs; one brother, Harold Gibbs of Sunny View; four grandchildren, Mason, Allie, Logan, and Jacob. Also surviving are a special niece and nephew, Lora Brock, and Jeffrey Gibbs.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, August 8, 2021, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2021, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Craig Scruggs and Mr. William A. Mills officiating.Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.At other times, the family will be at the home.
