Tryon, N.C. - Orion Lee Orr, 69, husband of Beverly Gehring Orr of Warrior Mtn. Road, Tryon, NC died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital, Columbus, NC. Born in Campobello, SC, he was the son of the late Orion L. and Helen E. Lockhart Orr. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force in l976 after 22 years of service where he spent much time at sea in South East Asia. He was a member of the Retired Enlisted Association. Mr. Orr was a member of the Christian Fellowship Assembly of God Church, Columbus, NC. Surviving beside his wife of 47 years: a son, William Lee Orr of Bakersville, NC; 3 daughters, Ayvonne Pierce of Landrum, SC; Renee' Lyn Braswell of Tryon, NC and Neibaj L. Silk of Costa Mesa, CA; a brother, William L. Tinney of Tryon, NC and a sister, Connie L. Hatfield of Effingham, SC; 7 grandchildren A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 25, 2006 in Christian Fellowship Assembly of God Church, Peak Street, Columbus, NC with Rev. John Owen and Rev. Kenneth Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 24, 2006 from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. in McFarland Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Christian Fellowship Assembly of God Church, P.O.
