Nicholas "Nick" Russell of Webster and Mill Spring, NC passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Grady Russell and Madge Johnson Russell Phillips. Nick was a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College and Western Carolina University. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Lanford and a nephew, Kevin Lanford.Surviving is his wife Margie Gibbs Russell, a son, Jon D. Russell (Kelli) of Sunny View, NC; five granddaughters, Samantha, Sarah, Scarlette, Rebecca, and Rachel, and one niece, Alana Lanford Gossett of Inman, SC.A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Mountain View Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Charles Jackson, Rev. Jacob Blanton, and Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.Burial will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.Memorials may be you favorite charity.At other times, the family will be at the home of his son, Jon D. Russell.
