COLUMBUS, NC -- Nellie Weaver Gibbs, 78, of 486 Bill Collins Rd., Columbus, NC, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 in Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC.Born in Greenville County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Sallie McMillian Weaver. Mrs. Gibbs retired from Hatch Mill, Columbus, NC after 38 years of service. She was a member of Motlow Creek Baptist Church, Campobello, SC.Surviving is her husband of 56 years, Calvin Gibbs of the home; four sons, Larry Gibbs of Mill Spring, NC, Jerry Gibbs of Rutherfordton, NC, Arnold Gibbs of Columbus, NC and Dean Gibbs of Asheville, NC; two daughters, Brenda Pike of Columbus, NC and Phyllis Justus of Hendersonville, NC. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Patti Gibbs.Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Coopers Gap Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Warren Elliott, Rev. Brian Wilson and Rev. John Edwards officiating.Burial will be in Coopers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.The family will be at the home, 486 Bill Collins Rd., Columbus, NC.
