MILL SPRING, NC - Nellie Faye Bennett, 93, of Mill Spring, NC went home to be with the Lord Friday morning, October 16, 2015 at Autumn Care of Saluda.Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Mamie Bishop Williams. Ms. Bennett worked in the Polk County Commissioners Office for many years and was retired from Coopers Gap Baptist Church as the church secretary. She was a member of Coopers Gap Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was very involved in the youth.Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Heffner of Mill Spring, NC and Becky Seagle of Sylva, NC; one sister, Jeanette Smith of Mill Spring, NC. Also surviving are four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 in Coopers Gap Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Don Holifield, Rev. Warren Elliott and Rev. Bob Philbeck officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.Flowers are welcome, but memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.
