Nancy Williams Johnson, age 89, of Saluda, NC passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in her home.Nancy was born in Ruffin, SC on December 12, 1932.  She was the daughter of the late Jake Witsell and Flora Williams. At 15 years of age Nancy earned the Walgreen National 4H Club Award. After graduating from Smoaks High School, she attended Columbia College and received a degree in Religious Education.  She worked at several churches and Columbia College as Alumni Secretary.  She was married to Bill Johnson for 8 years. After her husband's death, Nancy moved to Saluda, NC because of her love for the mountains.  Saluda and the Blue Ridge Mountains became her family.  She will always be remembered for her hospitality and love for her friends and family as well as her community and church.Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Bill Johnson and a sister, Anna Beth Speth.  Surviving are her siblings, Jean Waters of Florence, SC, Jake Williams (Dorothy) of Mooresville, NC, and her much loved nieces and nephews.A private memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday February 5, 2022 at Saluda United Methodist Church in Saluda, NC with Reverend Robert Parsons officiating.  The family feels this is in the best interest of the community due to Covid. At a later date, Nancy will be laid to rest with her parents in Walterboro, SC.The family would like to thank Nancy's friends, Anita Summey and Jo Darlington for their love and support.
