HENDERSONVILLE, NC -- Minnie Walker Lanning, 92, of Hendersonville, NC died Friday evening, November 21, 2008 in Mountain Home Rehabilitation in Hendersonville, NC.Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary Barnett Walker. Mrs. Lanning was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC.She is survived by one son, Donald W. Lanning of Pelzer, SC; three daughters, Jean L. Arrington of Brevard, NC, Shirley Wilhelm of Simpsonville, SC and Patsy L. Robinson of Greenville, SC; one sister, Eva Culbreth of Landrum, SC. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Angela, Scott, David, James, Teresa, Melynda, William, John, Danielle, Sammy, Stanley, Sherry and Scottie; 15 great grandchildren, Todd, Makalia, Ashley, Joshua, Tyler, Austin Lee, Brian Austin, Daven, Kaelyn, Tara, Sheli, Amy, Sabrina, Crystal and Michael; 2 great-great grandchildren, Kyiah and Nadia.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 in Faith Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Tim Gouge and Mr. Hugh Arledge officiating.Burial will follow in Mill Spring First Baptist Church Cemetery in Mill Spring, NC.The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service in Faith Baptist Church.At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain Home Health and Rehabilitation for their kindness and compassion shown to Mrs. Lanning and her family.Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731.
