Asheville, NC- Minnie Juanita Edwards, 80, of Asheville, passed away at Asheville Health Care Center Tuesday, February 10, 2009. She was a native of Polk County, NC, and graduated from Stearns High School in 1944. Juanita was an expert seamstress and a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, making fabric children's toys she designed. She was also a Certified Nursing Assistant, serving at nursing homes and as a visiting nurse. She is survived by her two brothers, Whitson Edwards of Mill Spring, NC and Lloyd Edwards of Rutherfordton, NC. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Mill Spring, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the church.
