Saluda, N. C. - Mildred Elizabeth Thompson Skelton, 93, formerly of Saluda, NC went to be with the Lord Monday, April 06, 2015 in Elizabeth House, Flat Rock, NC.She was born June 16, 1921, the daughter of the late Henry F. and Elizabeth McMurray Thompson and was married for almost 30 years to Gordon Skelton who died in 2001. She was employed in the hosiery industry for 30 years. Mildred was a faithful member of Saluda First Baptist Church, Saluda, NC.Surviving are several nephews, nieces and cousins and a sister-in-law, Iris Thompson. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Lee, Calvin, Homer, John and George Thompson. She will be missed by her loving family and friends.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Saluda First Baptist Church, Saluda, NC with Rev. Tony Reese and Rev. Marc Mortensen officiating.Burial will be in the Saluda City Cemetery, Saluda, NC.Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Thursday just prior to the service in the Saluda First Baptist Church.Memorials may be made to: Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731 or to Saluda First Baptist Church, P.O.
