Tryon, N.C. - Mildred Louise Knight, 93, of Tryon, NC died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in White Oak Manor Nursing Center, Tryon, NC. Born in Newberry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Bunion and Dovie Lee Stone Moore. She was the widow of James A. Knight who died in 1997. Mrs. Knight had lived in Rock Hill, SC for 75 years before moving to Polk County, NC. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Rock Hill, SC and currently was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are: a daughter, Jo Anne Knight Moss (Vernon) of Mill Spring, NC; a brother, John B. Moore of Huntsville, AL and a grandson, Christopher Vernon Moss (Samantha) of Mill Spring, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 in Silver Creek Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in Grandview Memorial Park, Rock Hill, SC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Jo Anne Moss, 235 Moss Drive, Mill Spring, NC.
