COLUMBUS –
Michael "Mike" Nathan Williams, 68, of Columbus, passed away, Saturday evening, August 3, 2024, at Advent Health in Fletcher.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was the son of the late Nathan Lankford Williams and Callie Wilson Williams. Mike was raised in Polk County and was a graduate of Tryon High School and Isothermal Community College, earning an associates degree. Mike worked for over 40 years with his father being a distributor for RC Cola. Mike enjoyed chess, spending time on his computer and putt-putt golf. Mike was very active in the Polk County Democratic Party.
Surviving are two sisters, Kathy W. Warren of Columbus and Katey Williams of Hendersonville; one nephew, Dustin Warren (Chelsea Trant) of Wake Forest, North Carolina; one niece, Julia Warren of Columbus; four great-nephews, Dylan Fauser, Zachary Warren, Declan Warren and Grayson Warren. Also surviving are many cousins.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, August 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, at the funeral chapel with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery in Columbus.
