Wade Gilbert, 71, of Sunny View, NC, and formerly of Inman, SC, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.He was born in Polk County to the late Hoit and Edna Haynes Gilbert. He worked at Broyhill Furniture Company in Rutherfordton, NC, as well as at various trucking companies before his retirement from Shelton Oil and Transport in 2010. He was also a Navy Veteran. He attended Grassy Knob Baptist Church.He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: David G. Gilbert, Luther Gilbert, Roger Gilbert, and Joe Dean Gilbert.Survivors include his wife, Dianne Gilbert, of 50-1/2 years, of the home; two sons, Russell Gilbert and Todd Gilbert; a grandson, William Gilbert; and a granddaughter, Savannah Lynn Gilbert.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Grassy Knob Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Warren Elliott.
