Columbus, NC- Michael Yankiv, died April 25, 2008 in Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC. Born August 9, 1927 in Passaic, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Ann Yankiv of Pompano, FL. Mr. Yankiv lived in Passaic, NJ, before moving to Allanmuchy, NJ with his family in 1944. He attended Hackettstown High School. Mr. Yankiv was employed at Picatinny Arsenal and owned and operated Yankiv's Esso Service Station on Main Street Hackettstown during the 1950's. He then moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he was employed as plant manager for the Florida Film Laboratories. Mr. Yankiv retired to Boca Raton, FL and then to Columbus, NC. Survivors include; wife, Eunice Kamps Yankiv; daughter, Michele Yankiv Richards and husband Jacob; granddaughter, Justine of Pennsylvania; Sister, Irene Zellars and husband Ted of Allamuchy, NJ; brother, Daniel Yankiv and wife Barbara of Hackesttstown, NJ. Also surviving are three nieces and a nephew; five great nephews and a great niece. A memorial service will be held at Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC. Interment will be in Pompano, FL.
