Michael “Wayne” Searcy, 66, of Sunny View, NC went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

Born in Polk County, NC he was the son of Walter Ben and Cordelia Sain Searcy. He served the local community as an electrician for many years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, gameshows and golf. He enjoyed collecting coins and adding them to his collection. Wayne rarely met a stranger and enjoyed making others laugh with his quick-witted sense of humor. Above all else, he valued the relationship he had with his family, being a loving son, father, and pawpaw was what truly mattered to him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Ben Searcy and his sister, Connie Lynn Yelton.

Surviving is his mother, Cordelia Sain Searcy; two daughters, Kimberly Gonzalez (Jimmy) of Hendersonville, NC, Amber Searcy of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Avrey, Josiah, Evann, Anthony, Alana; sisters, Kathy Cochran and Patsy Bailey; brothers, Steve Searcy, and Jerry Searcy. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Coopers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Reverend Brian Wilson.
