COLUMBUS –
Michael Henry McCallister, 86, of Columbus, passed away, Saturday morning, October 19, 2024, at White Oak Manor of Tryon.
Born in Greer, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Troy McCallister and Ruth Hinson McCallister. Mr. McCallister was a veteran of the South Carolina Army Nation Guard and went on to graduate from Furman University. He retired from South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Services. Whenever he could, he would be on the golf course.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Peggy Quinn McCallister; two sons, Kyle Powers of Cowpens, South Carolina and Quinn McCallister of Seneca, South Carolina; one daughter, Palles Edwards (David) of Landrum, South Carolina. Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2024, in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus with Reverend Rob Parsons officiating.
