Michael Scott Cochran, 57, of Columbus, passed away, Sunday evening, August 22, 2021, at Spartanburg Medical Center.A native of Polk County, he was the son of Louise Metcalf Cochran of Columbus and the late James Cochran. Mike was a 1981 graduate of Polk Central High School and went on to join the U.S. Navy serving 2 tours of duty. After his service to his country, he worked in several government jobs as a computer specialist. Mike enjoyed reading and was an avid New York Yankees fan.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Killebrew Cochran who passed in 2014.Surviving in addition to his mother is one brother, Frankie Cochran of Columbus; four sisters, Patricia Adcock (Rodney) of Columbus, Tami Martin of Tryon, Kelli Jackson (Emmanuel) of Dalton, GA, and Amanda Dyer (Kenny) of Landrum; his K9 soul mate, Scrooge; seven nieces and nephews, Rodney Adcock, Alyssa Jackson, James Jackson, Isaiah Jackson, Zachary Dyer, Madison Dyer and Ophelia Jackson.A private family service will be held.
