—Mary Carolyn Tessener, 94, of Columbus, NC passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at her residence.Carolyn was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Tallent Clarke. Carolyn enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors and walking. She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh B. Tessener; one sister, Rachel Porter and three brothers, John Clarke, Maurice Clarke and Malcom Clarke.Surviving is a nephew, Steve Porter (Tena) of Columbus, NC; two great nieces Harley Porter and Alexis Porter; one great-great nephew and one great-great niece.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC with Pastor Nathan Deatrick officiating. Burial will be private.Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 75 Carmel Lane, Columbus, NC 28722.
