Saluda, NC - Louise Thompson Staton, 93, of Saluda, NC went to be with the Lord Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC. A native and life long resident of Saluda, NC she was the daughter of the late John C. and Mamie Davis Thompson. She was the widow of the late Monty Staton who died in 1981. Mrs. Staton was retired from GE of East Flat Rock, NC after 21 years of service. She was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church, Hendersonville, NC. Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Bane of East Flat Rock, NC and Rebecca Rhodes of Mill Spring, NC; two grandchildren, John Kelly of Saluda, NC and Kim Buckner and her husband Jeff of East Flat Rock, NC; A great-grandson and her pride and joy, Chase Harris of East Flat Rock, NC; and a sister-in-law Betty Thompson of Asheville, NC. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry S. Kelly who died in l993, sisters Myrtle Phillips and hers Vernon Edgerton and brothers John C. Thompson and Ernest Thompson.Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012 in Saluda City Cemetery, Saluda, NC with Rev.
