RUTHERFORDTON, NC - Mary Barnette Price, 81, of County Line Rd., Rutherfordton, NC died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 in Autumn Care of Forest City, NC. Born in Sarasota, FL, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Bertha Jackson Barnette. Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Fowler of Pelham, GA and Mavis Roach of Forest City, NC; two sons, Calvin Atkins of Lynn, NC and Floyd Atkins of Flat Rock, NC and Bryant Davis of the home; one brother, Clarence Barnette of Florida; three sisters, Carolyn Mabry and Darryl Taylor both of Flat Rock, NC and Faye Ormond of Mill Spring, NC. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Robert Hefner officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Rutherfordton, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
