Mary Anderson Morrison, 95, died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Ridge Rest in Columbus.Mrs. Morrison was born on Aug. 7, 1911 in Lacey, Iowa. She was the youngest of the five children born to parents Charles Wesley and Frances Kelley Anderson. She was the wife of the late Dr. H.L. Morrison who died in 1961.Mrs. Morrison graduated from William Penn College in Oskaloosa, Iowa and taught high school. She moved with her husband and their three children to Long Beach, Calif. in 1955. After raising her family and following her husband's death, she returned to college and earned a BA degree in Social Welfare. She was the director of Social Services at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, Calif. until her retirement in the early 1980s.She was predeceased by her husband and two sons, Dr. Richard C. Morrison and John T. Morrison.Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jo (Walt) Myers of Campobello; five grandchildren, Dr. Michael Morrison, William Morrison, Dina Morrison D'Avolio, Kristen Myers Friedman and Erin Myers Albariti. Mrs. Morrison leaves seven great grandsons, Ken and Erik Morrison, Alex and Ian Morrison, Bradley and Matthew D'Avolio, Nathaniel Friedman and one great granddaughter, Elise Friedman.Mrs. Morrison's main focus in life was her family and helping anyone in need.
