Tryon, N.C. - Mary Adelaide Hester, 76, of Forest Lane, Tryon, NC died Sunday, March 11, 2007 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC. Born in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Julian and Adelaide Canfield Hester. She was a life long resident of Tryon and a patron of the arts having supported scholarships for numerous students at Brevard Music Center, Brevard, NC. She will be fondly remembered by the many musicians she befriended and supported over the years. Miss Hester is survived by a number of cousins in NC, MI and elsewhere. The body will be sent to the William Hamilton Funeral Home in Detroit, MI for services and interment in the Elmwood Cemetery.
