Mary Ruth Clark, 86, passed peacefully at Autumn Care in Saluda, North Carolina on Friday, October 17, 2014.Ruth was born to the late Daniel and Gladys Daggett on August 29, 1928 in Williamsville, Missouri. Ruth's family moved to Fredericktown, Missouri in 1940 where she met and married her husband, Lewis Earl Clark, in 1946. Ruth was elegant and beautiful and was an avid seamstress and exceptional cook. She was also strong and determined; for many years she could be seen driving an old farm truck on E-highway while assisting Lewis on the family farm. Ruth retired from the Fredericktown school system in 1990 and was a member of Calvary Temple Church. Ruth was preceded in death by husband Lewis, daughter Darlene, and brothers John and Curt Daggett. She and Lewis lived in the Fredericktown area for 63 years and raised three children: Tom Clark, Darlene Dettmer, and Teresa Wicker. Ruth is survived by two children (Tom and wife Sandy of Bloomsdale, Missouri, and Teresa and husband Ken Wicker of Tryon, North Carolina), her beloved sister (Dorothy Payne of Union, Missouri), four grandchildren, (Christa Forsyth, Kelly Starkey, Michael Dettmer, and Lucas Delezene), and six great grandchildren.A funeral and burial will be held in Fredericktown, MO.
