TRYON, NC -- Martleen Parke Lippincott, 81, of Oak Hill Apartments, Tryon, NC died Monday, March 17, 2008 at her residence.Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late E. Hamilton and Martleen Whitcroft Parke. Mrs. Lippincott graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and she was a High School Teacher and Coach in the Sterling School District in Somerdale, NJ. She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tryon, NC. She moved to Polk County in 1986 from Laurel Springs, NJ.She is survived by her husband, William A. Lippincott, IV. Two sons, William A. Lippincott ,V (Peggy) of Severna Park, MD and Kenneth P. Lippincott of Laurel Springs, NJ. One sister, Nancy Jane Parke of Tafton, PA. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Courtney and Aaron Lippinctt.There will be no local services at this time.Marty bequeathed her body to the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Dr., Columbus, NC 28722 or the charity of your choice.
