Columbus, NC—Martha Hannon Holt, 66 of Columbus, NC passed away at Spartanburg Medical Center on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.Born and raised in Polk County, NC she was the daughter of the late William Harold and Margaret Turner Hannon.  She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and spent the majority of her career working at St. Luke's Hospital.  Martha enjoyed playing golf, swimming and loved animals.  Her beloved fur baby and faithful companion for the last 17 years "Stuey" passed away three months prior to Martha's passing.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.  Martha was of the Baptist faith.Surviving are two daughters, Leslie Young (Christopher) of Spartanburg, SC and Monica Garren (Corey) of Hendersonville; two grandsons, Gabriel Young and Oakley Young; her identical twin sister, Mary Hannon Butler (Barry); her brother, William Michael Hannon (Arnette); many nieces and nephews; her cat, Bella and many grand fur babies.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Minister Jimmy 'Hambone' Camp officiating.The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. prior to the service.Memorials may be made to Foothills Humane Society, PO Box 985, Columbus, NC 28722 or to P3 (PAWS, PRAYERS, & PROMISES), 685 Carriage Row, Tryon, NC 28782.
