Tryon, NC -- Marilynn Wasson Vosburgh King, 84, of Tryon, died on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2006, at White Oak Manor after a long illness. A native of Indianapolis, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Ruth Young Wasson and Stowell Crosby Wasson. She graduated from Duke University and worked in advertising design in Chicago before moving to Tryon in 1952. She owned and operated The Book Shelf from 1975-1990. She is survived by three sons: George Shibley (Kip) Vosburgh III of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Stowell Wasson (Toby) Vosburgh of Charlotte, N.C.; and Grant Young Vosburgh of Pulaski, Tenn.; seven grandchildren: Leah Vosburgh Tribble of Gainesville, Fla.; Erin Vosburgh Melton of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Meredith Wasson Vosburgh of Tampa, Fla.; Justin Crosby Vosburgh of Tryon; Amelia Layne Vosburgh of Pulaski, Tenn.; Stowell Whitney Vosburgh and Natalie Ruth Vosburgh, both of Charlotte; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Edwin King Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Tryon Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Hosick and Dr. James C. McPherson officiating.
