VALDESE –
Hazel Marie Harris Head, 89, of Valdese, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday morning, January 19, 2025.
Born in Green Creek, she was the daughter of the late Jade Harris and Mamie Fowler Harris and wife of the late Robert "Bob" Norris Head who passed away in 2020. She and her husband, Bob, lived in Valdese for many years. Mrs. Head worked briefly outside of the home and later became a stay-at-home Mom, raising her family. She had a heart for helping people with whatever they needed. Whether it was in her church or people in her community, she was always there when the need arose. The joy of her life was cooking for her family and spending time with her family. Mrs. Head was a member of Valdese First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Emmett Liam Head; one brother, Curtis Harris; two sisters, Mildred Painter and Shirley Harris.
Surviving is one son, John Robert Head (Janice) of Valdese; two granddaughters, Jennifer Harrill (Justin) of Iron Station, North Carolina and Katie Angley (Tyler) of Valdese; one grandson, Jacob Robert Head (Kenna) of San Diego, California; seven great-grandchildren, Julianna, Lila, Silas, Blakely, Elijah, Levi and Lawson.
A private family funeral service will be held at Mill Spring First Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
