Margaret Helen Wheat, 79, of Columbus, NC, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 in her home.Born in Scotland, she was the daughter of the late James and Jane Gilgannon Thomson. Margaret worked for IBM as a computer programmer. She enjoyed golf and painting. She was a member of Tryon Country Club.Surviving are her husband, Frank Wheat of the home and a brother, Jim Thomson of Scotland.No local services are planned.
