Columbus, NC - Margaret Ann Shehan, 55, of Columbus, NC, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015.Born in Polk County, NC she was the daughter of Patricia West of Columbus, NC and the late Alvin West. She was employed at Hatch Plant in Columbus, NC for over 30 years and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Margaret loved the outdoors and animals, she supported numerous animal shelters and charities. Margaret was preceded in death by a brother, Mike West. Surviving beside her mother is: her husband, David Shehan; two sons, Justin Pierce (Aliva Stott) and John Shehan (Alison Hunter). Also surviving is a sister Janet Black (Silas) and two grandchildren Emma and Elizabeth Shehan.Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. John Edwards officiating.The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. prior to the service.Memorials may be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 8195, Asheville NC, 28814.
