Maggie Sue Bridgeman Edwards, 85, of Columbus, NC passed away Thursday morning, June 22, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital, Columbus, NC.A native of Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late George W. Bridgeman and Rosa Bradley Bridgeman and widow of Doc "Sell" Edwards who passed away in 2006. Mrs. Edwards worked at Hatch Mill and in her later years worked at Hardees in Columbus making her well known biscuits. She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Chuck Edwards; grandson, Clint Edwards; five sisters, Doris Ballew, Ruth Walker, Blanch Fulbright, Hazel Ridings and Ann Tate.Surviving are one brother, Doug Bridgeman (Carolyn) of Oklahoma City, OK.A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Pastor Nathan Deatrick officiating.Burial will follow in Ridings Cemetery, Columbus, NC.The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
