SALUDA – Mable Thomas Pace, 85, of Saluda, passed away, Sunday afternoon, September 20, 2026, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, surrounded by her family.

Born in Madison County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Thomas and Josie Roberts Thomas. Mable moved to Saluda in 1968, coming from Hendersonville. She was a loving homemaker and helped her husband operate Saluda Exxon for 9 years. She enjoyed baking cakes, crocheting and making jam. In earlier years, she attended Green River Baptist Church in Tuxedo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Virgil Pace who passed away in 2015; four sisters, Lela, Ellen, Bertha and Lillie Mae; three brothers, Delno, Dillard and Floyd.

Surviving is one son, Roger Pace of Saluda; one daughter, Wanda Cannon (Michael) of Hendersonville; two granddaughters, Chelsa Cannon and Natalie Pressley (Ethan); three great-grandchildren, Kennedy Pressley, Emersyn Pressley and Truett Pressley; one sister, Martha Littrell of Bulls Gap, Tennessee. Also surviving is a special niece, Phyllis Cole and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the McFarland Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday at the chapel with Reverend Curtis Pace officiating.

Burial will follow in Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery in Saluda.
