COLUMBUS, NC - Mabel Marie Pearson, 97, of Columbus, NC passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 in Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC.Born in Wingate, NC, she was the daughter of the late Reece Michael Hagler and Martha Jane Stroud Hagler and widow of Archie Pearson who died in 2011. She and her husband retired to Tryon in 1970 and moved to Tryon Estates in 2001. She was a member of the Tryon Country Club and Tryon First Baptist Church.Surviving are one son, Michael Pearson and daughter-in-law, Julia of Barrington, RI; one granddaughter, Catherine Reece Pearson of Washington, DC.A private service will be held in Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, NC.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722 or to Tryon First Baptist Church, 125 Pacolet Street, Tryon, NC 28782.
