COLUMBUS, NC - Louise McCravy Hart Starnes, 85, of Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC died Saturday afternoon, June 23, 2007 in Tryon Estates Medical Facility, Columbus, NC.Born September 11, 1921, in Spartanburg, SC, she was a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, Converse College and Douglas College. Louise married the late Paul Kiser Starnes of Blacksburg, SC. They lived in North Plainfield, NJ, where she taught third grade and was a librarian. She retired to River Hills Plantation, Lake Wylie, SC and later moved to Tryon Estates in Columbus, NC.Louise was a member of the First Park Baptist Church, Plainfield, NJ and River Hills Community Church, Lake Wylie, SC. She was active in PEO, American Association of University Women, Lioness and the Guardian Ad Litem program.She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Starnes Toms-Welker and husband, Tim and Carol Starnes Clarkson and husband, Stuart; one brother, James Hart of Inman, SC. Also surviving is one grandson, Bradford Young of Auburn, AL.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007 in Tryon Estates Auditorium, Columbus, NC with Rev.
