Mill Spring, North Carolina -- Lloyd Alexander Edwards, 85, formerly of Chesnee, SC, died April 27th, 2009, in Colonial Manor Rest Home, Rutherfordton, NC. Born in Mill Spring, NC, he was the son of Edgar Henry and Eva Caroline Hall Edwards. Lloyd was the widower of Ava Lou Spakes Edwards, who died in 2004. He was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church, and attended Stearns High School in Columbus, NC, and served in the US Navy during World War II. Surviving is his brother, Whitson Edwards of Mill Spring, NC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, May 3, 2009 in McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Danny Tapp officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery, Mill Spring, NC.
