Lewis William Suber, 49, of Howard Street, Tryon, NC, passed away Sunday Nov. 6, 2022, at his home."Willie D"William entered the world on October 4, 1973, in Tryon, NC to his parents, Mrs. Viola Wood-Suber and the late Lewis Suber. William was a proud graduate of the Tryon High School Class of '91 and Lees-McRae College's Class of '99. While at Tryon High School, William played his favorite sport-football and played the Cornet in the band. William's love for football extended from his high school years as a Tiger, to his love for the Pittsburgh Steelers as an adult. His love for football was shared with his nephew Tymon, who he encouraged to hit his opponents hard enough so that he could, "see snot bubbles from the stands."William's love for football was surpassed by his love for his family-who were the most important part of his life.  William was a man of faith and lived his life according to his favorite scripture Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." KJVWilliam was a lifelong member of St. Luke CME, and was a bass in the choir as a youth and as an adult.When William was not spending time with his loved ones or watching his beloved Steelers, he would spend his time cooking and fishing.He is survived by his wife Appriel Blackwell-Suber, his mother Viola Wood Suber, his daughters Elizalee and LeVonna Suber, Tryon, NC, his sister, Andrea Suber, Gastonia, NC, his brother, Travis Suber, Wilmington, NC; brothers, Terry McIntyre (Mildred), Charles Wilkins; and sister, Connie Sayles (Robert). He is also survived by nieces, Tesia and Amina Childs, and Aurora Suber; his nephews lan and Tymon Childs, and countless loved ones and friends.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC, with Rev. Carl Wanamaker officiating.Visitation is 12:30 to 1:45pm, with services starting promptly at 2:00 p.m.Burial will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Tryon, NC.
