Green Creek, NC - Larry James Fagan, Sr., 64, of 350 Radar Rd., Rutherfordton, NC (Green Creek Community) died unexpectedly at his home Saturday, October 14, 2006.A native of Green Greek, NC he was the son of Sybil Westbrook Bitting of Autumn Care in Saluda, NC and Huey Fagan of Green Creek, NC. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea. Mr. Fagan was a lifetime farmer and was retired from Norfolk Southern Rail Road. Surviving in addition to his mother and father is his wife, Norma Jean Cantrell Fagan. One daughter, Angela Fagan Painter and her husband Danny of Green Creek, NC. One son, Larry Fagan, Jr. of Green Creek, NC and his girlfriend Michelle Ring of Hendersonville, NC. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren Stephanie, Erica, and Daniel Painter. One sister, Fonda Allen of Green Creek, NC. Three brothers, Mickey and Reggie Lanford both of Green Creek, NC, and John Fagan of Boiling Springs, SC.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 in Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Green Creek, NC with Rev. Earl Byers officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2006 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC.Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Joe Rhinehart Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Jerry Horne, 165 Fagan Road, Columbus, NC 28722.The family will be at his home, 350 Radar Road, Rutherfordton, NC.
