SALUDA – Kerry Irwin Witt, 60 of Saluda, passed away, Sunday morning, July 5, 2026, at his home, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Des Plaines, Illinois, he was the son of Roberta Kay Phar Witt of Saluda and the late Kenneth Witt. Kerry came to Saluda in 1980 from Des Plaines. Kerry spent his career in manufacturing, having worked at Saluda Yarn, and several other textile mills in the area, He also worked in a steel mill in South Carolina for some time. Kerry finished his career at Berkeley Mill (Kimberly Clark) in Hendersonville.

Kerry had a passion for Harley Davidsons and muscle cars- loved drag racing and John Force was his idol.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his loving wife of 17 years, Paula Dickinson Witt; one son, David Witt (Tasha) of Mars Hill, North Carolina; one stepson, Ryan Delong (Katie) of Columbia, South Carolina; one stepdaughter, Allison Delong (Keith Holland) of Tuson, Arizona; two grandchildren, Mason Witt and Griffin Delong; one brother, Ken Witt (Gail) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two sisters, Kathy Witt of Saluda and Kelli Heatherly (Don) of Etowah. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held.
