IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenny
Parrish
August 22, 1958 – March 6, 2026
Funeral Service
First Baptist Church of Landrum
Starts at 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
On Friday, March 6, Kenneth “Kenny” Gerald Parrish Jr. entered his heavenly home and heard the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Servant is a word that truly defined Kenny’s whole life. He lived every day of his life for his family. A person so deeply selfless and kind is rarely found in this world, and his loved ones feel his loss profoundly. Rarely without a smile on his face, Kenny loved traveling the world and never met a stranger. His zest for life, combined with his genuine desire to connect with people, inspired everyone he met to be more present in the moment.
He lived a life of purpose and integrity, never wavering in his commitment to his faith and family. The great joys of his life were his beloved wife, Patricia “Pat,” his children, and his grandchildren. Kenny met Pat in high school, and their young love never faded throughout their 51 years together. As a father, he was in a league of his own; there was never a doubt that Dad would come to the rescue. Dependability was his superpower. As a PawPaw, he made everything fun and made sure his grandchildren always felt special. He will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and unfailing strength. He juggled many roles as husband, father, uncle, brother, grandfather, great-uncle, cousin, and friend, and he gave his whole heart to being the very best in every one of them.
Kenny served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Landrum, where he also taught Sunday School. He was the first to volunteer for any community event or service need and never tired of lending a helping hand. He never let a day go by without finding a way to brighten someone’s day. His family and friends covet your prayers as they navigate a world that is darker and less colorful without Kenny’s light.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Parrish. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Patricia Ann Parrish,; son William Brandon Parrish (Gina Parrish); daughter Kayla Parrish (Chris Shealey); grandchildren Remy and Wilder Parrish, and Joel, Jace, Ashton, and Daniel Shealey; his father, Kenneth Gerald Parrish Sr.; sister Linda Bearden (Barry Bearden); nieces Kacie and Karlie Bearden; and many more beloved family members who will never forget the joy he brought to their lives.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Landrum. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
The family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Landrum, in lieu of flowers, to support the community outreach efforts so dear to Kenny’s heart.
