Katie Marie Foster Phillips, 81, of Hwy. 108 E., Mill Spring, NC, died June 22, 2008 in Spartanburg Regional Hospital. Born in Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John and Sally Davis Foster. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Pea Ridge Baptist Church. She is survived by; her husband, Lewis Phillips of the home; two daughters, Martha Smith of Kure Beach, NC and Dorothy Chumley of Moore, SC; two sons, Larry Blackwell of Edneyville, NC and Jeffrey Phillips of Madisonville, TN. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Scott Phillips. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in Pea Ridge Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC, with Rev. John Edwards and Rev. Jeffrey Parker officiating. Burial will follow be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, June 23, 2008 from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. in McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC.
