HENDERSONVILLE – Katey Katra Williams, 60, of Hendersonville, passed away, unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at her home.

Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Nathan William and Callie Wilson Williams. Katey was a graduate of Tryon High School. Following graduation, she went to Warren Wilson College earning her degree in Sociology. Katey worked for many years with the North Carolina Dept. of Social Services in Hendersonville until her retirement.

Katey loved to travel, especially to the beach. She often took several trips each year to different parts of the country. Katey was an avid animal lover, especially her cat Jade. Most importantly, she was devoted to her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Williams.

Surviving is one sister, Kathy Warren of Columbus; one nephew, Dustin Warren (Chelsea) of Wake Forest; one niece, Julia Warren of Columbus; four great-nephews, Dylan Fauser, Zachary Warren, Declan Warren and Grayson Warren.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel. A celebration of Katey’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
