June Franks, 93, of Columbus, NC passed away, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC.Born in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Sanford and Doris Kloppman Evans. June graduated from Bucknell University in 1946 and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She lived in Shaker Heights, OH, Glen Rock, NJ, Glen Ellyn, IL and Summit, NJ until she retired to Tryon, NC in 1989.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Norman A. Franks, and one son, former Congressman Bob Franks.Surviving is one daughter, Judy Mott of Roanoke, VA; four granddaughters: Mary Mott (Jake Wise) of Roanoke, VA; Kelly, Sara, and Abigail Franks; and a daughter-in-law, Fran Franks, of Warren, NJ.A memorial service will be held November 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O.
