Tryon, N.C. - John Anthony White, 77, of Miller Drive, Tryon, NC died Monday,November 10, 2014 in the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills House, Landrum, SC.Born in Newport, RI, he was the son of the late Francis A. and Dorothy Hunt White. He was a Veteran, having served in the U. S. Navy. John received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Miami, FL and was an Administrator at the University of California, San Francisco for 20 years. Surviving is: his domestic partner of 43 years, Jim Wood; a sister, Elaine Edwards (Mark) of Vienna, VA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis A.
