Mill Spring, NC - John Leonard Jackson, 77, of 35 Buzz Lane, Mill Spring, NC passed away Saturday, November 4, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital, Columbus, NC. Born in Henderson County, NC, he was the son of the late Lucy Stepp Case and Harm Jackson. He worked in maintenance for Polk County Board of Education, Southern Mercerizing, and Highwood until his retirement in 2001. Surviving are his wife, Argie Greene Jackson of the home; two sons, Leonard Jackson and wife, Pat of Sunny View, NC and Alan Jackson and wife Sheila of Mill Spring, NC; two daughters, Arlene Jackson and husband Ricky and Tina Bennett and husband, Jeff all of Rutherfordton, NC. Also surviving is one grandson, Heath Jackson; three granddaughters, Kim and Kelly Jackson and Lauren Bennett and two-step grandsons, Clint Edwards and Jordan Walker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in the Big Level Baptist Church, Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Herman Nodine and Rev. Tommy Turner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
