John Andrew Hatcher, 61, of Summerville, South Carolina, went to be with His Savior on Sunday, June 21st, 2026 in Trident Hospital, North Charleston, South Carolina.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois and was the youngest son of the late James Larson Hatcher and Beverly Barber Hatcher. John was a 1983 graduate of First Baptist High School in Charleston, SC. He served in the United States Navy from 1984-87. John went on to become a Master Electrician, studying at Trident Technical College, and earning membership in Phi Theta Kappa in 1997.

He worked with L&M Electric before becoming a private contractor and starting his own business, Hatcher Electric. John’s other interests included hunting, disc golf, music, and Scrabble.

Surviving include two children, Jessica Hatcher of Charleston, SC and Grant Hatcher of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by his fiancée, Cheryl Smith of Summerville, SC; his mother, Beverly Barber Hatcher, and his sisters Susan Hatcher Hutson and Rebecca Hatcher Hopkins, all of Inman, SC; and James E. Hatcher, Esq. of Duncan, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 pm Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Crossroads Baptist Church, 333 Fox Mountain Rd, Columbus, NC 28722. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary.

Burial will be held in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC.
